This manual describes the Texpress database design facilities. The principal program is referred to as Admin and it provides access to all of the database design tools. Only the database administrator is permitted to use the design tools although other users can be granted access to certain programs from the Administrator menu. The major operations performed are those of data definition, database configuration and initialization and the allocation of database access privileges. Numerous other operations are available but these are peripheral to the operation of the database and are provided only to present a more friendly working environment. |

Texpress incorporates a general purpose facility for importing data in a wide variety of formats into a Texpress database. The importing program interprets a grammar file which defines the format of the data. The only requirement of the data is that it must be in a reasonably consistent format. |
